Even worse, Sin Cara is injured thanks to his botch at Survivor Series and will be out 6-9 months. Now my ironic reasons to watch SmackDown! has decreased by 70% (Diva acting making up the 30%) Although we at Botchamania never relish severe injuries (there are exceptions, such as Nash and Vince’s quads), we busted a gut at Sin Cara botching a dive. HE’S A LUCHADORE FOR GOD’S SAKE. Not since the days of Super Shockmaster, Planet Stasiak and JT Smith has a wrestler used botches as a regular part of their repertoire.
Every cloud has a silver lining though (unless it’s Quiet Storm) and I said I’d make SinCaraMania as soon as the silly sod had got himself released either via common sense or wellness policy violation, ”which won’t take long”. Turns out I was only slightly wrong. We wish Sin Cara all the best so he can return ASAP and continue filling me with glee whenever he does anything.

Other misc. Survivor Series thoughts…
The Rock was on another level to the other wrestlers that night. His long interview where he used the Rock Time Machine to take us back to 2000 and had the crowd in the palm of his hands within seconds of him appearing on screen were breathtaking.
The Eve Torres bump was amazing for a divas match. It almost made you overlook the fact Torres had to get herself into position for the move all by herself.
CM Punk/ADR was good as usual, even if I’ve seen this match about a dozen more times than I would have liked this year. The ”Colt Cabana” chant was a highlight.
Mark Henry/Big Show was interesting, as they built it around Big Show’s top rope elbow drop but the rest was staggeringly dull. They were able to have a -gasp- exciting match at Vengeance with the same ”Build to a ridiculous high-spot” structure, but here they were unable to capture the same magic. The crowd entertained themselves (and me) with their chants of ”Mae Young”, ”Sexual Chocolate”, ”D’lo Brown” (!!!), ”Undertaker”, ”HBK” and ”randy Savage”. That’d make a good battle royal.
The Survivor Series match was good for showing off how good Cody Rhodes is. Hopefully they’ll do something with it this time. In one of those stupid ”Let’s try and push everyone!” moments WWE has been failing miserably at recently, Wade Barrett was one of the survivors despite doing not much of interest the last few months and Sheamus (who has been beating Christian on a regular basis) gets eliminated via not listening to the ref. You can’t do everything at once, muppets.
Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison was amazing just for the NON-STOP Zach Ryder chants. Morrison was booed whenever he did a move that wasn’t a flippy flip flip. He is still the World’s Sexiest Jobber. Ziggler did double-duty again, despite WWE having the biggest fucking roster in the world. Christian? (edit: He’s injured Maffew. Get a grip) Daniel Bryan? One of those NXT guys? No, let’s try and make Ziggler awesome by having him win lots. This’d work if he was a face and a fighting champion, but he’s a heel and cheats with Vicky most of the time so…the point is? Ah well, he’s a great wrestler so at least the match quality is usually high.
The main event was everything you’d expect it to be and I don’t mean that in a negative way. It truly felt like a main event thanks to the performances of all the wrestlers (yes, even Cena) and the white-hot crowd. Truth and Miz looked like a force to be reckoned with, which is absolutely not the impression you’d get watching Raw.
Overall it was good filler as the last few PPVs have been. It’s about time WWE stopped making good filler though, all things considered. The MSG crowd demonstrated that there’s a big difference between what WWE is putting out and what a lot of people WANT to see. However, when said people still order the PPVs and watch the shows regardless, does it matter what’s chanted?

In other news…
The lack of regular updates is due to life getting in the way. This happens when the site and the videos are a one man (with assistance) team, hence why I was so keen on getting writers/submitters/video-editors/fucking anything to submit regular things. The response was…tepid. So it’s back to ”If I am free and don’t have to worry about friends of mine trying to kill themselves, I’ll update with something not Botchamania. I am not using this as a way of casting blame on anybody, I am mostly upset with myself with no securing things on a regular basis and also not having the excellent time management skills I used to. On the plus side, whenever Kevin Ford gets a Chikara DVD he’ll be reviewing it, so that should please the sponsors. Video Game Music/VG Cover bands are also in the pipeline to be reviewed and Saturday/Sunday are now ‘Great interview and Shit match’ days.
