MAGFest 2013

Edit 28/12/12: I’m not allowed to be on the schedule as the kind folk of MAGFest are letting me use the panel rooms after midnight, BUT BUT we get Thursday aaaand Friday now as a way of making good. I’ll take that.

Yup, this is happening. All in part thanks to this Kickstarter.

I have no words to describe how awesome you guys are. 2012 has been my worst year financially in years and the Kickstarter was the last ditch attempt at salvaging something from it. I’ve told myself I’m above begging, so a lot of people have taken advantage of the advertising space for themselves and bands so it’s actually money for services. So it’s guilt-free! Well, most of it. The rest will be spent on Slim Jims.

The plans are currently have the No Mercy tournament on the Friday at 7pm and the panel itself is happening at midnight the same day. The dodgy time is due to the fact that MAGFest have given their blessing for a panel BUT the panel rooms are all filled because of increased attendance, but we are allowed to do it in the suite we’ve booked after the other panels have finished as to not annoy people. So we’re not on the schedule, but we’ll make a few signs for the entrance so people know where/when the fuck it is. It’s not an ideal situation, so I’m just working around it. THIS ISN’T A SCAM.

So if you can turn up and lose horribly to me at No Mercy (I’m picking Perry Saturn. He’s like the Akuma of 2000 wrestling games) and stop along to see all the video footage I’ve built up over the last few months at the panel, them wunderbar. If not, don’t worry. It’ll all be filmed and dumped on YouTube soon afterwards.

    maffew, my name is Franke Sisto.  I live in Southern New Jersey, and you just made my day!  I will be at MAGfest this year, and I was hoping you would be too since I wasn’t able to attend last year. 

    I will be at the panel, and though I am not very good at No Mercy, can I interest you in a game of Starfox64?  It would be my honor to bring the cartridge.

    Oh Goddammit, you *would* be the guy who went Perry. For anyone wanting to challenge Maffew, I recommend Benoit, Tazz, Al Snow and Steve Blackman for best stats/moveset combination, though really, No Mercy’s so well balanced you could beat Andre the Giant with Ho. Best of luck, guys!

      ANYONE beating Andre isn’t that tough.  The Superheavyweights were the one gameplay screwup of No Mercy – you just got too much of an Attitude boost every time you slammed them.

    For some reason I seem to think you are from Middlesbrough? Well I have some old University mates who live up ther eating Parmos etc, so why no triumphant hometown appearence?

    Of course, I might be totally wrong and you are an American, and Ive been misled.

    Anyway, Im so glad the year didnt end on a shit note like the rest of the year sounds like its gone,  it goes to show you never know whats round the corner, no matter how bleak life appears.

    I wish I could be at this. I would totally come just to play in a No Mercy tourney. And I would be HBK…not because of his moveset, but because of his legendary pelvic thrust taunt. Sometimes I would intentionally start the game with the joystick pointed wrong so that any time I wasn’t doing a move he would be doing the pelvic thrust

    Saturn is a noble choice for the cheese factor, but I still say Bradshaw’s the best bet. That !#@%$@#$@ Bradshaw Hammer is nigh-unblockable.

    (Alternately, anyone with the delayed brainbuster is near-impossible to beat.  I’m still convinced they only gave that move to Rock so that he’d be more effective in two-player mode)

    i drove 10 hours to magfest even saw a chikara pro tee and a el genarico cosplay that i locked up with but i had no idea that you were at magfest SHIT i was there representing ThatGothicKid.com and shooting a movie for some other websites.
